About Us:
The Rocky Figure Skating Club (RFSC), located in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta, is a thriving, community-focused club offering quality skating programs for all ages and skill levels—from beginners in CanSkate to competitive figure skating. Our mission is to inspire a lifelong love of skating in a positive, inclusive, and fun environment.
Requirements: The successful candidate will:
- Be a NCCP Certified CanSkate Coach, registered and in good standing with Skate Canada
- Provide a copy of your Coach Dashboard
- Experience working with young children is an asset
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver group programs in accordance with Skate Canada delivery standards
- Lead off-ice training sessions for PreStar and STARskate
- Create a safe, inclusive, and fun atmosphere for all skaters
- Work collaboratively with other coaches and program assistants
- Provide constructive feedback and encouragement to skaters and families
- Participate in occasional club meetings and events
Skills: The successful candidate will:
- Be enthusiastic, organized, and dependable
- Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Be a positive role model for skaters
- Work well independently and as part of a team
Time Commitment:
- Evening and/or weekend availability depending on program scheduling
- Opportunity for daytime programming as well
- Opportunities for additional coaching hours in STAR group or private lessons (if qualified)
Skating Programs:
- CanSkate
- PreStar
- STAR group lessons and private lessons (if qualified)
